BACKGROUND
While it seems that the ASEAN region is advancing due to the thriving economies of several member countries, the living conditions of a signifcant part of the population prove that some developing nations within the region have yet to experience the benefts of the economic growth and technological advancements of its neighboring countries.
With this background, WeCare (PPP-Public Private Partnership) project targets to provide opportunities to disadvantaged ASEAN communities in Myanmar, Indonesia & Vietnam, allowing them to gain access to appropriate knowledge and affordable technologies which have helped other ASEAN countries achieve economic development and transformation.
OBJECTIVE
The project aims to ensure the livelihoods of farmers in a sustainable way by improving the quality and the preservation capacity of their produce. Furthermore, a strengthened preservation capacity of agricultural and seafood products will contribute to increasing regional food security through the mitigation of post-harvest losses.
