BACKGROUND
CEP-D Cambodia project aims to enhance knowledge about diabetes within the country's medical community but also among the whole population. In order to promote better care and management of diabetes across Cambodia, the project targets several groups and has a wide geographical scope. Health Care Professionals, students in medicine, patients and their relatives are engaged in tailored activities in 16 provinces.
OBJECTIVE
1. Raising awareness about diabetes as a public health issue
2. Creating a community of medical staff specialized in diabetes car
3. Offering patients an environment in which they can find support relate to their every day gith against their disease
4. Giving young people with diabetes the opportunity to raise their voice by becoming advocates for change
5. Creating awareness among national authorities and developmental agencies on the need to improve diabetes health care in Cambodia
6. Creating opportunity for medical students to be further trained on
